Why it is interesting

A clear route to both a useful complication and independent movement testing. Against the ordinary TV Big Date, I would primarily assess the extra cost of COSC.

Things to consider

Availability needs separate confirmation. Try the rectangular case on: width alone does not describe how it fits.

The model in detail

A big date feels appropriate within a television-shaped dial: its window becomes part of the architecture. The principal change in this version, however, is inside: COSC certification. It interests buyers seeking a verifiable technical distinction in return for paying more.

The automatic Caliber 80 COSC delivers up to 80 hours of power. MIDO states that movements undergo 15 days of testing in five positions at different temperatures. Two discs form the date: these large numerals use a dedicated display mechanism rather than simply enlarging the print on a conventional calendar.

A 39.2 × 40 mm case should not be mentally equated with a round forty-millimetre watch: geometry changes its visual area. CHF 1,350 includes Swiss VAT. The official store showed it out of stock when checked; that does not establish availability across all dealers.
