The model in detail
Meet the watch
A beautiful movement usually asks you to take the watch off. The PanoMaticInverse lets you study it on the wrist: the balance and its engraved bridge sit beside the asymmetric time display. The large date is on the right. To our eyes, the combination of moving mechanics and orderly indications makes this model particularly persuasive.
Engineers changed the arrangement and construction of several components to achieve this result. It is therefore more than a transparent dial above a conventional movement. The duplex swan-neck adjustment becomes part of the composition, while the engraved bridge contrasts with striping on the neighbouring components. Here, construction determines appearance.
Automatic calibre 91-02 operates at 4 Hz and provides a 42-hour reserve, with a stated ±5% tolerance for that duration. That figure concerns running time, not rate accuracy. The rotor with its 21-carat gold weight is visible from the back. With regular wear, automatic winding removes the need for daily hand winding.

The Panorama Date uses two discs mounted on the same plane, with no dividing bar between the numerals. The steel case measures 42 mm across and 12.3 mm thick, with 5 bar water resistance. The selected reference uses a blue textile strap, which makes the elaborate front appear less formal than leather would.
At the time of checking, official dealer Wempe lists this version at $15,700 before tax. The principal compromise is a short reserve by modern standards: the watch may stop over a weekend off the wrist. Consider the PanoMaticInverse for its finishing, engraving and unusual movement arrangement; hours of autonomy alone cannot explain its value.
