NOMOS Worldtimer Dark: cities glow in the dark

A black dial and expanded luminous display give the familiar Worldtimer more character at night. Inside is the in-house DUW 3202 with integrated time-zone mechanism.

Why it is interesting

With Dark, it is worth waiting for night: cities and the home-time scale now glow. The slim case and mechanical time-zone switching remain, a good reason to revisit the familiar Worldtimer.

Things to consider

42 hours do not bridge a full weekend without winding. Check lug-to-lug length on the wrist. For owners of the previous Worldtimer, the novelty is primarily another dial rather than a new set of functions.

Component 01

Automatic winding rotor

The semicircular weight bearing NOMOS winds the mainspring as the wrist moves. The DUW 3202 rotor works in both directions; its gold globe recalls the world-time function.

The model in detail

On 29 September, NOMOS added Worldtimer Dark to its permanent collection. Super-LumiNova now covers both the city ring and home-time 24-hour scale. The update is immediately visible in darkness, while the existing DUW 3202 remains inside.

The steel case retains its 40 mm diameter, 9.9 mm thickness and 48 mm lug-to-lug length. Water resistance is 10 ATM with the crown correctly screwed down. Reference 793 has a sapphire display back.

The DUW 3202 keeps the case slim: the time-zone mechanism is integrated into the base construction. Calibre height is around 4.8 mm. It has the in-house NOMOS swing system escapement, bidirectional automatic winding and adjustment in six positions. Up to 42 hours of reserve is exactly the figure you will remember after taking it off for a whole weekend.

The pusher at 2 o'clock changes city and local hour; a separate 24-hour scale retains the chosen home time. Fratello's 29 September publication gives the bracelet and sapphire-back version's European price as €4 400. Uzbekistan price and availability are unconfirmed.
