Slava Television 2427: two barrels behind a green screen

The green Television is easily recognised by its broad steel case and double calendar. Behind the 1970s look sits the Russian calibre 2427 with two mainspring barrels. We examine what the 125 000-rouble price buys.

The model in detail

Meet the watch

A green dial, rounded rectangular case and broad bracelet give the Television character even before you meet its movement. Reference 9040562/100-2427 has the day and date in separate windows. This anniversary Slava will appeal to someone tired of round cases who wants a distinctive watch with a recognisable history.

Inside is the automatic 2427, a Russian movement developed in 1973. Its most interesting feature is its two mainspring barrels. Slava explains their purpose in terms of reducing error when the watch is weakly wound. Two barrels here do not promise several days of autonomy: the stated reserve is at least 31 hours.

Consider that figure against your routine. If you take the watch off on Friday evening and return to it on Monday, do not count on it still running. The 2427's stated rate tolerance is also broad: −25…+60 seconds per day. Owners should decide in advance how comfortable they are with regular time checks; two barrels alone do not turn a movement into a chronometer.

Details and limitations

Slava says the 2427 undergoes complete disassembly, cleaning, assembly, lubrication and regulation before installation. That is useful information when buying a movement with a long history. Check the full reference: the Television collection also includes models with Miyota movements. The 9040562/100-2427 is interesting specifically for its Russian 2427, rather than the familiar case alone.

The case is 42 mm wide and 13 mm thick, with a stated watch weight of 175 g. The steel bracelet complements the substantial case design, and sapphire covers the dial. I would begin the fitting by checking how the bracelet wraps around the wrist: rectangular watches feel different from round ones of the same size. The stated 30 mm lug width is another reason to check bracelet replacement options beforehand.

As of 3 October 2026, the official Russian store asks RUB125 000. At that price, I would choose the Television for its shape and unusual Russian movement. If a long reserve and a narrow accuracy tolerance are your main buying criteria, the 2427's specifications are unlikely to be the deciding argument. There is more here for a collector who enjoys understanding how their watches work.
