Grönefeld · 1941 Remontoire Constant Force RG

Strengths

A compelling reason to follow independent watchmakers: the 1941 Remontoire has an individual character in both energy delivery and the finishing of its steel bridges. Compact proportions let all that engineering remain part of a classical watch.

Things to consider

Its 35-hour reserve calls for daily winding, and water resistance is 30 m. Grönefeld had paused new orders when checked; availability of a particular example needs separate confirmation.

TUDOR · Pelagos FXD GMT

Strengths

A compelling travel GMT for those already happy with textile and fixed bars. Its strongest argument is the independent local hour hand, rather than the aviation insignia.

Things to consider

Fixed bars rule out conventional two-piece straps and a standard bracelet. The bidirectional 24-hour scale does not replace a diver’s minute bezel.
