Voutilainen · 28CG Rose Gold

Strengths

28CG shows how much character a three-hand watch can contain. Its two-wheel escapement and large balance provide mechanical depth, while the 37 mm case and hand guilloché preserve an intimate scale.

Things to consider

A thickness of 11.3 mm and 30 m water resistance limit versatility. The 65-hour reserve is useful, but there is neither automatic winding nor a power-reserve display on the dial.

TUDOR · Pelagos FXD GMT

Strengths

A compelling travel GMT for those already happy with textile and fixed bars. Its strongest argument is the independent local hour hand, rather than the aviation insignia.

Things to consider

Fixed bars rule out conventional two-piece straps and a standard bracelet. The bidirectional 24-hour scale does not replace a diver’s minute bezel.
