Singer 1970 DualTrack: two cities, four barrels and six days

The hand-wound ST5001 Dual Time SLIM provides at least 144 hours of reserve. A rotating 24-hour ring displays the second zone at six o’clock and is adjusted by a dedicated pusher.

Why it is interesting

A strong choice for a collector seeking a second zone with its own character. The attraction is the display and four-barrel mechanics.

Things to consider

Official materials disagree on diameter: 43 mm on the SR811-3 card versus 40 mm in the press release. Confirm sizing before ordering.

The model in detail

Meet the watch

Singer puts the second time zone at the bottom of the dial. Central hands show local time, while a rotating 24-hour ring brings the home hour to a fixed pointer at six. The hierarchy is clear: time here first, time elsewhere second. For a collector tired of similar-looking GMT watches, that rearrangement is what makes the DualTrack interesting.

The left-hand pusher advances the ring in one-hour steps. To follow Tashkent and another city, for example, one zone can remain on the hands and the other on the ring. The step is a whole hour, however, so this adjustment does not suit destinations with half-hour or quarter-hour offsets. Before buying, try reading the lower pointer rather than judging the watch solely from a frontal photograph.

The hand-wound ST5001 Dual Time SLIM uses four barrels and offers at least 144 hours of running time. Six days turn winding into an occasional, deliberate ritual. Singer links the architecture to even energy delivery. Barrel count alone cannot replace checking the accuracy of an individual watch; the interest lies in the construction and its long autonomy.

Details and limitations

On Cobalt Blue, cool metal meets cream markings and orange accents. Case facets continue into the bracelet; in my view, this composition makes most sense worn as a complete steel object. It has plenty of expression without an exposed movement on the front. Through the caseback, there is still a separate technical story.

There is an important sizing caveat: the manufacturer's SR811-3 product card states 43 × 12.6 mm, while the published press release gives a 40 mm diameter. Obtain confirmation from the brand for this exact reference before ordering. Stated water resistance is 100 m. Current pricing, delivery timing and total purchase cost should likewise be requested for the chosen version rather than copied from an adjacent model.
