Why it is interesting

Resetting the seconds makes precise time-setting easier; the precious finishing is concealed inside the steel case.

Things to consider

At CHF 68,000 this is exceptionally expensive independent watchmaking; the steel case does not imply affordability.

The model in detail

In its official announcement of October 14, Biver introduced the AB, its first steel watch. The 38 mm case houses the hand-wound JCB-004 with a white-gold mainplate and bridges. The manufacturer specifies 120 hours of running time, tracked by an arc at the top of the dial.

The yellow-gold dial base carries a dark DLC coating, surrounded by an onyx ring. The five-link bracelet offers 4 mm of micro-adjustment. Hodinkee's October 16 report lists a price of CHF 68,000.
