Why it is interesting

The thin automatic tourbillon remains the main technical attraction, while diamonds change the character of its frame.

Things to consider

5,000 g is the manufacturer's testing claim; it does not mean a watch with a gem-set bezel needs no careful handling.

The model in detail

Following its October 8 announcement, the Bianchet Rotondo UltraFino Diamond reaches the US public at WatchTime New York on October 16–18. This is an exhibition debut, rather than a new world premiere. Its Grade 5 titanium case combines with a white-gold bezel and 1.6 carats of baguette diamonds.

The 3.85 mm-thick UR01 calibre features a flying tourbillon and gold rotor. Power reserve is 60 hours, and the watch is water-resistant to 100 metres. The official price is CHF 92,500 before taxes; the manufacturer claims shock resistance up to 5,000 g.
