Parmigiani Fleurier · Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Steel Platinum Warm Grey
The model in detail
Meet the watch
The warm grey hand-guilloché dial has little to distract the eye. The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor relies on proportion: a 40 mm steel case with a platinum bezel and simple hands put the dial's texture at the centre of attention.
A conventional full-size rotor sits above the movement and adds height. In the automatic PF703, the platinum micro-rotor is integrated into the plane of the calibre. The movement is 3.07 mm thick and the complete watch is 7.8 mm. This does not prove better accuracy, but it is a clear engineering route to a low profile.
Parmigiani specifies a 3 Hz frequency and a 48-hour reserve. Take a fully wound watch off on Friday evening and the theoretical reserve will almost cover Sunday evening; it will not reach Monday. A partly wound watch stops sooner, so it is useful to compare 48 hours with your wearing habits.
Details and limitations
At 40 mm in diameter, a 7.8 mm thickness is a good reason to try it under a shirt cuff. Fit also depends on the case shape and bracelet. Try even a slim watch on your wrist: a catalogue number cannot describe every point of contact.

© Parmigiani Fleurier · SourceThe sapphire back exposes the PF703 architecture; from the front you see hand-made Grain d'Orge guilloché and applied markers. The platinum rotor and bezel are notable details of this steel-and-platinum version. Do not assume every similarly named Tonda PF uses the same components.
The watch displays time and date without a long list of complications. Its restrained dial is easy to read, but someone who needs a chronograph or several days of power should compare other models. The point here is a slim automatic construction and finishing, rather than a maximum feature count.
