Parmigiani Fleurier · Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Platinum
The model in detail
The GMT Rattrapante is interesting because its extra function can leave the stage. A second hour hand separates local and home time, then the indications can reunite to restore a conventional two-hand appearance. Rattrapante here does not mean a split-seconds chronograph: this model should not be credited with a stopwatch. The subject is the control of hour hands.
Inside is the automatic PF051 with a 22-carat rose-gold micro-rotor. It runs at 3 Hz with 48 hours of reserve. The micro-rotor leaves more room to view the bridges, but the owner’s benefit is on the front: complication used as needed. In my view, that is a persuasive approach to a travel watch when a second zone is unnecessary on many days.

Judge it on the wrist: precious metal adds mass that dimensions cannot describe. One buyer may enjoy that material presence while another finds it intrusive; a photograph cannot establish comfort.
The official 2026 version is limited to 30 pieces, with CHF91,000 shown on the page. Its estimated availability from June 2026 does not establish an unallocated watch today. Allocation, configuration and the final invoice need checking. This is a choice for platinum’s tactile presence and an original GMT function rather than a demonstrative dial.
