Lang & Heyne · Georg
The model in detail
Meet the watch
Georg’s external shape continues inside. Rectangular Calibre VIII uses the space deliberately, exposing the gear train and individual bridges. For a collector, that is a more substantial reason to choose an unusual case than a silhouette change alone.
The case measures 40 × 32 mm and 9.4 mm high. It is not equivalent to a round 40 mm watch: rectangles wear differently. Curvature helps fit, but the length along your wrist needs a fitting. Comparing these watches by width alone is particularly unhelpful.
Manual winding, 55 hours of reserve and stop seconds create a simple ritual: wind, set and wear. There is no rotor obscuring the architecture. The reserve covers a little over two days, but several days off the wrist mean winding and resetting.
Details and limitations
The large subsidiary seconds display anchors the composition. Options include white Grand Feu enamel; the official photograph shows a light-dial version in a gold case. Manufacturer images illustrate possible configurations, so agree the details of a current order separately.
Georg suits someone who knows why they want a quiet watch without sporting functions. Proportion and craft are the purchase. The reviewed page does not state a current price: request a quote for your chosen metal, dial and clasp, plus the production lead time. Assigning one price to the entire model would be misleading.
