HTD · Aquatìc GMT Rosso Blu
The model in detail
Meet the watch
The most useful detail of the HTD Aquatìc GMT hides behind its familiar red-and-blue appearance: the ordinary hour hand can be adjusted separately when changing time zones. At €990 in the brand’s Italian store, that is a persuasive feature. Our subject is the Rosso Blu, reference A26E02-RB, on a steel bracelet. Its black dial, two-colour 24-hour scale and red hand immediately recall classic travel GMTs. More interesting, though, is what the Florence-based brand has done with proportions, displays and time setting. These are the things that determine whether a watch becomes a useful companion or simply an attractive reminder of airports.
The central attraction inside the case is the automatic Miyota 9075 with independent local-hour adjustment. While travelling, the long red hand can remain on home time and the short hour hand can be moved to the destination time. The minute hand does not need resetting during this adjustment. That is the practical meaning of traveller GMT. On a flight from Tashkent to a city three hours away in time, for example, the local hour changes while the link to your home schedule remains. For someone who calls overseas more often than they travel, the benefit is less clear-cut: independently adjusting the additional hand may better suit their routine.
The movement has 24 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, hand winding and stop seconds for precise setting. Miyota states a running time of approximately 42 hours. That suits daily wear, but it will not cover an entire weekend: a fully wound watch removed on Friday evening will have stopped by Monday morning. HTD says it regulates the movements in its Florence workshop. It does not publish a specific tolerance for the finished Aquatìc. The standard −10/+30 seconds per day in Miyota’s specification should be treated neither as a test result for this watch nor as a promise of accuracy after regulation.
Details and limitations
The 316L steel case measures 39 mm across, 47 mm from lug to lug and 12.4 mm high including its domed sapphire crystal. Those are moderate dimensions on paper, although case length matters as much as diameter for fit: compare the 47 mm span with a watch you already find comfortable before buying. Water resistance is rated at 200 m, and the crown screws down. The bracelet uses solid links joined by screws. There is a useful everyday detail here: the manufacturer specifically recommends threadlocker after resizing. A carefully fitted bracelet matters just as much on a trip as an additional time zone.
The official photographs clearly show the flared metal surrounds of the applied markers and the large triangle on the red GMT hand. The date sits at six, maintaining the dial’s symmetry. The composition looks orderly: a separate colour helps locate home time while the large ordinary hands retain priority. The brand specifies blue-glowing Super-LumiNova BGW9. The bezel has 24 indexed positions and, according to HTD, a bearing-based mechanism. Its hour divisions let you offset the reading of the additional hand; a photograph cannot establish how satisfying those clicks feel. For timing short intervals, a 24-hour scale is less convenient than a familiar diver’s minute scale.

© HTD Watches · SourceFor €990 on HTD’s Italian storefront, the package is straightforward: a traveller GMT, a modest-diameter steel case, sapphire and a bracelet. Its strongest feature is how the functions work together: local time changes quickly, home time remains visible and the date does not disrupt the dial. The limitations are equally down to earth: approximately 42 hours of running time call for regular wear, and a statement about regulation cannot replace a numerical accuracy tolerance. Rosso Blu will appeal to someone who enjoys the recognisable red-and-blue GMT vocabulary but chooses a watch for the convenience of its mechanics. Its most convincing argument appears after the aircraft lands, when only one hand needs changing.
