Longines · Ultra-Chron Carbon
The model in detail
The defining change in Ultra-Chron Carbon is case material. Carbon adds an irregular texture, with titanium used alongside it in the construction. That moves it away from the familiar feel of a substantial steel cushion case. Diameter remains 43 mm, however: light material does not make the geometry compact, so a fitting still matters.
The automatic L836.6 operates at 5 Hz—36,000 vibrations per hour—and uses a silicon hairspring. Reserve reaches 52 hours. High frequency gives the seconds hand a particular character but does not remove the need for careful adjustment. Longines emphasises TIMELAB certification of the finished Ultra-Chron Carbon, distinct from simply quoting a frequency.

That is a strong daily-use package, though strap use, seal condition and servicing still matter. A photograph cannot establish the current watertightness of a pre-owned example.
The model was introduced in January 2025; the US product card now shows US$5,550. That is a US-market price without shipping and import calculations for Uzbekistan. Our view: Ultra-Chron Carbon is interesting for its combination of high frequency, unusual material and substantial size without gold decoration. If a conventional metal bracelet is essential, this configuration entails a compromise.
