RGM · Model 501-PC Perpetual Calendar
The model in detail
White fired enamel and blued steel hands give the 501-PC the character of late-19th-century pocket calendars. RGM explicitly explains that inspiration in its October announcement. The appearance is traditional, but the important event is the return of a full perpetual calendar to the collection rather than an attempt to attract attention through new case geometry.
RGM describes the mechanics’ origins in detail. The ETA 2892-A2 base is reworked, with changes to the automatic assembly and a proprietary solid-gold rotor. The calendar module is commissioned from Dubois Dépraz, using a four-year-cycle month indication. This is not an entirely American calibre. In my view, clear disclosure of the division of work builds trust and permits informed comparisons.

Water resistance is 5 ATM and reserve is 52–56 hours. When rotating watches, the calendar may stop; learn the correction procedure and instruction-manual restrictions before buying.
The fired-enamel version is US$39,900. That is a substantial independent-brand purchase based on a taste for enamel, proportions and calendar tradition. Before ordering, agree production timing, documentation and module servicing. A perpetual calendar accounts for a complex calendar cycle but does not remove the owner’s responsibility for correct handling and resetting after a stop.
