Patek Philippe · Instantaneous Perpetual Calendar Chronograph
The model in detail
Milan's Watch Art exhibition has its own watch premiere, the Patek Philippe 5978P-010. SJX reported it on 1 October 2026. The new CH 29-535 PS QI combines a hand-wound chronograph and instantaneous perpetual calendar, with 500 components in total.
The most beautiful moment is the calendar change. Its displays must switch in sync, requiring energy to be collected and distributed at the right time. Patek specifically emphasises this synchronisation. The brand has made instantaneous calendars before, but the combination with this chronograph gives the new model its own story.
The platinum case measures 42 mm across and 14.24 mm high. Production is limited to 120 pieces. The stated 55–65 hours of running are measured with the chronograph off: if you use the stopwatch actively, do not read that number as a promise of the same autonomy.
This is a watch for people who like understanding mechanics. The calendar invites attention to the front, the chronograph to the calibre's construction. Before buying, still try the tall case and understand calendar correction. We do not quote a dollar price: the public page does not make its market clear.
