Ulysse Nardin Freak ONE Blue Enamel: a carousel over blue enamel

Freak has an open carousel instead of conventional hands. In Blue Enamel, it moves over a blue enamel hour disc: 44 mm of titanium, calibre UN-240 and 90 hours of power reserve.

Why it is interesting

The model in detail

Freak ONE Blue Enamel has a 44 mm titanium case and a white-gold hour disc with blue enamel. The series is limited to 99 pieces. The familiar Freak architecture gains another backdrop: the open mechanism is especially noticeable beside the smooth enamel surface.

The automatic UN-240 runs at 3 Hz and provides 90 hours of reserve. Its flying carousel participates in the time display, and the escapement uses DIAMonSIL technology. The construction has 229 components and 15 jewels.

The enamel is applied and fired at Donzé Cadrans. The distinctive challenge is that the coating sits on a moving hour disc, a functional part of the movement.
