Zenith Solo Sport: El Primero's rhythm in three hands

A three-hand Chronomaster is an unusual direction for the El Primero family. Solo Sport keeps 5 Hz, gains 60 hours of power and a 40 mm case, leaving the chronograph off stage.

Why it is interesting

Solo Sport suits those who enjoy Zenith's high-frequency mechanics but rarely use a chronograph. Attention shifts to three hands, the ceramic dial and bracelet comfort.

Things to consider

5 Hz is a movement specification, rather than a promise of perfect timekeeping. If the chronograph is what draws you most to El Primero, this version has none.

The model in detail

On 2 September, Zenith introduced Chronomaster Solo Sport, a three-hand model with automatic El Primero 3620. Derived from the chronograph 3600, the movement retains 36 000 vibrations per hour and gains a 60-hour reserve.

The 40 mm steel case has a rotating ceramic bezel and screw-down crown. Stated water resistance is 20 ATM. Ceramic dials come in white, black and brown; the black version is also offered without a date.

The bracelet has a new ZENCLASP with tool-free adjustment, a useful everyday detail. The official announcement prices date versions at CHF9 900 and black no-date at CHF8 900. These are press-release prices; local purchase cost needs separate checking.
