Why it is interesting

The appeal lies in everyday details: a light case, 65 hours of running and an adjustable clasp. If an in-house calibre is not essential to you, AirField looks like an intriguing option.

Things to consider

AirField has a 40 mm case, worth trying if you favour large watches. Surface hardening does not protect against all damage. Shipping is planned for late October; price depends on the strap and order conditions.

The model in detail

AirField develops the Field platform towards aviation design. Monochrome reports preorder opening on 24 September 2026; Formex's official store confirms first deliveries in late October. Tarmac Grey is distinguished by its grey dial, broad hands and a triangle with two dots at 12 o'clock.

Behind the dial sits the Sellita SW200-2 Power+: automatic winding, 4 Hz, 26 jewels and 65 hours of running. Formex chose an established movement with a date and familiar three hands. For all the interest in case materials, its mechanics remain straightforward.

The official product page gives the Grade 2 titanium case as 40 × 10.6 mm, with 46.6 mm lug-to-lug length. The surface is hardened to approximately 900 HV. It has a screw-down crown and 15 bar water resistance. Early press dimensions differed, so we use Formex's figures for fitting advice.

When checked on 1 October, the official store's starting price was CHF830, depending on strap selection and order conditions. Elastic nylon and leather with a carbon folding clasp are available. The latter provides stepless 7 mm adjustment. Preorder does not mean immediate shipping availability.
