Why it is interesting

The most interesting features of this PRX are its open hand-wound mechanics and the ability to change not only the strap but how the watch is worn. That character, rather than the familiar collection name alone, should be the reason to buy.

Things to consider

The 44 mm size and busy skeleton background call for a fitting: check wrist fit and time-reading speed. There is no automatic winding, and the official product page does not disclose the calibre designation.

The model in detail

Meet the watch

The most unexpected detail of the new Tissot PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard is not under the crystal but inside the box: a leather holder with a chain allows the wristwatch to become a pocket watch. For the PRX, whose appearance revolves around a continuous case-and-strap silhouette, that is a fairly bold turn. Yet the mechanics remain the best starting point. This is a large hand-wound model, rather than a familiar automatic PRX with its dial simply opened up.

Tissot and Lillard’s first collaborative PRX used the Powermatic 80 and paired a black dial with gold-tone PVD coating. The Skeleton, introduced on October 21, 2026, substantially changes the character of the partnership. Burgundy accents frame the open construction, while the gold-tone small-seconds hand at nine o’clock takes the form of a D monogram crossed by two vertical lines. It refers to the stage name Dame D.O.L.L.A.; the wording Dame Time repeats around the seconds assembly.

Tissot specifies manual winding and a power reserve of up to 52 hours. The official product page does not give the calibre designation, so assigning a particular ETA modification to this version would be premature. The confirmed characteristic matters more to an owner: wrist movement does not replenish its energy. There is an aesthetic benefit to this choice — the mechanism can be viewed through the transparent caseback without an automatic winding rotor obscuring it. Lillard’s signature on the crystal remains part of the decoration, rather than a separate mechanical function.

Details and limitations

Fifty-two hours provides a little more than two days from a full wind. That is enough to skip the usual morning ritual once, but it cannot promise operation from Friday evening to Monday morning. Tissot’s general manual recommends winding hand-wound movements regularly; linking this to the same time each day makes sense. The crown should not be forced beyond a firm stop. The buyer is choosing a watch that requires interaction, and that habit deserves consideration before purchase.

The open face is interesting because the eye continually shifts between hands, wheels and silvery surfaces. Official close-ups clearly show the broad hour markers and burgundy rings that help organise this complex picture. Nevertheless, it lacks the calm contrast of a closed dial. Super-LumiNova on the hands is useful in darkness, but does not by itself answer how quickly you will read the time under side lighting. That is the first thing I would check when trying it on.

The second is the scale of the case. Its 316L steel construction, 44 mm width and 11.20 mm thickness give the familiar PRX silhouette a very different footprint on the wrist. At the same time, the stated weight of 95 g does not seem excessive for such a conspicuous watch. Diameter cannot be considered separately from shape: broad case shoulders and the transition to the strap make visual presence more important than a single number. If the ordinary PRX already seems large to you, ordering the Skeleton without trying it on is a risk; a slim profile does not cancel out width.

The sapphire crystal has an antireflective coating on its inner surface, and water resistance is rated at 10 bar. These specifications support everyday use, but the sporting biography of the collaboration’s protagonist does not turn the watch into training equipment. Tissot’s manual specifically notes the effects of impacts and ageing seals, as well as the need to check water resistance. Observing the mechanics is more interesting here than trying to prove their toughness. A leather strap is not the best choice for exposure to water in any event.

The package includes two burgundy straps: rubber with a conventional pin buckle, and leather with a folding clasp. Quick-release attachments allow tool-free changes. The pattern on the rubber refers to the milk crates used as improvised basketball hoops during Lillard’s childhood. Once the strap is removed, the holder and chain offer a third way to wear the watch. I like that the personalisation extends to everyday use, although the pocket-watch configuration will remain more of an enthusiast’s pleasure than a necessity.

Tissot’s US website lists this version at US$2,075 as of October 22, 2026; that is a reference for a specific market, not a promise of pricing in Uzbekistan. At this level, choosing the Skeleton solely for the PRX name would be odd. Its strength is the combination of open hand-wound mechanics, assertive dimensions and an unusual package. Those who value discretion, automatic winding and calm time-reading more highly will still find the ordinary closed-dial PRX concept more appealing. Here, the character itself should be the reason to buy, including Lillard’s conspicuous symbolism.
